Looking forward: the 2008/2009 season
My only concern for next season is the extremely low water levels that are current in our lakes. It has had an adverse effect on the fishery and although we have plenty of good water here on which to fish, there is no doubt that high water and stable water levels add to the fishery.
For those who are good casters and fancy something different, the sea trout fishing promises to provide good sport. I have a real love for these fish because they are hard to catch and fight like no other trout.
Everyone wants sight fishing and I am no different. Let's hope that the weather Gods smile on us next season and that the fishing is as good as it was in 2007 and 2008.
Look out for Volume 2 of "Tasmanian Fly Fishing Techniques". After the success of Volume 1, we are hoping to get it out into stores by late November.
Lane is currently in Monaco working on boats in the Med (he might be hard to lure back!) and is very keen to see you all again later in the year.
As previously mentioned, bookings are already coming in for next season and I urge you to book early in order to secure time on the water with us. In the meantime, have a great winter and keep practicing your casting.
